I’m on a Break

I miss you and want to check in!

I’m on a break.

More succinctly, my blog is on a break. It is suggested I officially notify all my readers I have put my blog on the back burner – at least, for the spring/summer.

Thank you for asking about me, and Happy Fourth of July!

Life has a way of surprising us. Have you noticed? I did not think in a million years I would be BUSIER at this stage in our lives!

Funny, I am one of those people who scripts out my life… unintentionally. No, it has NEVER turned out like the script. Nonetheless, I have all these preconceived ideas of how my life should go. For example, my theme for decorating our house this upcoming Christmas, less than 24 weeks away, is already in the works. (Five Golden Rings!)

When our kids were young, I put my energy into accomplishing an all consuming amount of activities, work, goals – and, had extra ideas waiting on the horizon. I suspected, by the time our grandkids arrived on the scene, I’d have leisure time to read and write to my heart’s content.

HELLO! What happened?

I am NOT complaining. I love having my calendar full of lunch dates and taxiing grandkids here and there. (‘cleaning house’ is not on the calendar so I probably should add it somewhere)

A scripture automatically comes across my computer each morning. It encourages my direction for the day and I share it with everyone- yes, the grandkids especially. These are valuable years with these precious children. I don’t want to waste a minute if I can influence them for Jesus.

I have mentioned a zillion times we have 10 grandkids all living within 13 minutes of our house.

It seems my FAVORITE days of the week are when our kids/grandkids walk into our house unannounced and throw my schedule out the window. The most recent- a two night sleepover with six of the granddaughters. I LOVE getting a call notifying us one of the grandkids needs a quick ride to a birthday party or pick up at a friend’s house. This gives me one on one time with my favorite people in the world.

Actually, it is all the EXTRA projects that have surprised me! Can you relate?

I’m clearing out my mom’s memories and learning all kinds of cool things about my parents’ lives. Letters they exchanged during World War II have thrilled me no end. I have Ancestory.com connecting me with cousins in Canada I haven’t known.

Invitations to speak keep my adrenaline pumping; and, I wish I could attend every graduation and wedding invite from the thousands of kids I’ve taught over the years- especially my favorites. Yes, you know who you are.

I still try to sneak in a Hallmark Movie every week.

My ‘bucket’ list is GROWING instead of getting checked off!!

Our 6-year-old grandson is calling me from the other room right now. I’m in a fierce competition in a table shuffleboard game as we speak, and he is relentless in his efforts to beat me.

Watching fireworks is tonight! Thank you God for this GREAT country and how blessed we are to live here!

So, after summer, I’d love to start up my blog again.

Please let me know if you have certain topics about which you want to chat- and, I’ll see you in the fall!!

My passion is to develop confidence in kids and parents by helping them discover their unique talents and abilities.

I am an author and playwright. I create, produce and direct kids musical theatre for churches and schools.

It’s my passion to help kids, parents, and worship leaders discover who they are by embracing their natural talents.

I am also passionate about temperaments, the unique personality that each person is born with. You are going to be amazed ….

A frequent speaker at MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) groups, I love to help moms discover why their kids do what they do, and how to motivate them according to their temperaments. Yes, even babies have discernible temperaments. How cool is that.

As a motivational speaker, I travel extensively, keynoting for conferences, churches and other events large and small.
